It was a windy day in Key Largo, Florida, so I had the job of holding the light umbrella. That wasn’t exactly what I’d had in mind when I’d signed up to become editor of SCORE two months earlier in March 2001, but I really had nothing to complain about. I was standing on the balcony of a beautiful beach house. One story down, Lorna Morgan and Kerry Marie had just jumped into the pool, stark naked. About 10 feet away from me on the balcony, a 19-year-old beauty with F-cup tits was showing off her body and spreading her pussy…and, by the way, offering her opinion on the shoot to the photographer.
That was Desirae, who had already soared to instant stardom when she debuted on the cover of the June 2001 issue of Voluptuous. It’s not often that you come across a girl who has the face, the tits, the body and, on top of that, knows a thing or two about shooting.
“I was a photographer for a little while, so I’m always aware of what the photographer is doing,” Desirae told me later when I asked her about her interest in the technical side of the shoot. “I try to pay a lot of attention to detail because I figure why botch it the first time and redo it when you could do it right the first time? If I’m gonna do something I want it to look good. I don’t want it to be half-assed.”
Three things. First, Desirae never did anything half-assed (including her website, DesiraesWorld.com, which in the beginning, featured her weekly personal diary updates). Second, she always looked good (like on the cover of the October ’02 issue of SCORE, which she called “one of the proudest moments of my life”). Third, I could count on one finger the number of models I’ve known who have shown such curiosity about how they were being photographed.
Interestingly, though, that curiosity ended when Desirae was having sex on-camera, something she did only three times (twice with her real-life boyfriend). Because Desirae, who only shot for The SCORE Group, loved sex more than any 19-year-old I’ve ever known.
